New assistant city manager brings 30 years of experience
Robert Frank was looking for a new challenge when he accepted the position of Hazelwood's assistant city manager.
He spent 30 years working as a city administrator in Ellisville, Moberly, Raymore and Troy. When the position opened in Hazelwood, it was just what he wanted.
"I like being here for the diversity of various activities," said Frank, 56. "I also wanted to be in a larger community."
His main job is to assist City Manager Edwin Carlstrom. Frank also oversees the personnel, planning and zoning and communications offices.
Carlstrom introduced Frank to the residents at the Sept. 19 city council meeting.
"We're happy to have him here for this kind of experience," Carlstrom said. "He has served in other cities as a manager."
"Right now, my duties are evolving," Frank said. "Right now, we're working on the completion of the (historic) Knobbe House. I'm still in the acclimation process."
Frank replaces Daniel Mears, who accepted a city manager post in another city.
