Green Park Chamber Presents Annual Awards

03/21/2008 - The Green Park Chamber of Commerce recently presented its annual scholarships and awards at its fifth annual awards banquet held at Bartolino's South.

Business Person of the Year was awarded to long-time president of Neighbor's Credit Union, Larry Giesing.

Citizen of the Year was awarded to Mike Swoboda, mayor of Kirkwood.

Young Entrepreneur Scholarships were awarded to four Green Park students. The scholarships included a $250 U.S Savings Bond, gift cards from Green Park businesses and a beautiful brass and walnut wall plaque inscribed with the slogan "What you believe…You can achieve."

"These students have made a commitment to excellence and have demonstrated the deep desire to succeed. We are proud to award them the title of Young Entrepreneurs" said Chamber President Jim Smoot.

More than $900 was raised for the Young Entrepreneur Scholarship fund and 75 donated door prizes valued at more than $1,500 were distributed to the attendees.
