OVERLAND: City administrator reports for duty

By Buck Collier

Residents of Overland entered a new era this morning. Professional management has come to the town of nearly 17,000 people.

Jason McConachie reported for duty as Overland’s first city administrator. McConachie, selected from about three dozen applicants, has spent the past several years as the assistant administrator in Des Peres.

“I looked at where the city was headed and thought this was a good opportunity for me,” he said in an interview at City Hall. “I thought the city was moving in a positive direction.”

McConachie spent his first day on the job meeting departments heads and becoming familiar with the City Hall staff.
