The new president of Christian Hospital is Ron McMullen, who will assume his new position April 30.
Hospital officials say McMullen, 55, is known as a "hands-on leader" who has a "successful track record" in developing staff and growing services.
He currently is president of Alton Memorial Hospital and has been affiliated with the hospital since 1983.
"He is a leader with effective management skills who becomes directly involved with physicians and employees who serve our patients," said Sandra Van Trease, BJC HealthCare group president, in a statement. "You'll also find him to be someone who takes an active interest in the betterment of the communities we serve."
McMullen succeeds Paul Macek, who resigned in February after six years at Christian.
"We're looking forward to Ron's leadership at Christian Hospital as the organization continues to grow and thrive under his direction as a hospital that embraces quality, technology and service excellence," said Jerry Daniels, chairman of the Christian Hospital board of directors, in a prepared statement. "We are very fortunate to have a leader of his caliber join the Christian Hospital team."
McMullen has a master's degree in hospital and health care administration from Saint Louis University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Missouri.
He and his wife have three children and live in Godfrey, Ill.
