Lindbergh School Board Makes Semi-Finals In Mo. Competition

July 06, 2007

The Lindbergh School District Board of Education has been named a semi-finalist for the “Outstanding Board of Education Award.” Lindbergh is one of four St. Louis County school boards selected by the Missouri School Boards’ Association (MSBA). A total of 36 Missouri school boards were nominated.

In order to become a semi-finalist for the award, a board of education must:

•Rank above the 50th percentile in the state in both student achievement levels and student achievement improvement for the past five years;

•Have had all school board members complete MSBA’s Certified Board Member Essential training;

•Have had school board representation at each of the last three MSBA Annual Conferences.

“The Lindbergh Board of Education is very pleased with this nomination,” said Board Secretary Vic Lenz. “The focus of the board and administration has always been on improvement of student achievement and our faculty, staff, and students have responded with a steady and strong increase in test scores.”

MSBA’s Training and Development Committee, made up of school board members from districts throughout the state, will select the Outstanding Board of Education for 2007. That school board will be honored at the MSBA Annual Conference in October. Learn more by visiting www.msbanet.org.
